Mikoy Morales reveals previously exploring his sexuality: I thought I was bisexual'

Mikoy Morales has been typecast into gay roles, such as Roxie in the comedy sitcom “Pepito Manaloto” and as Mark in the film “4 Days.”

On “Lutong Bahay,” the Kapuso actor was asked by Mikee Quintos whether he ever felt confused about his sexuality.

“Never naging confused, but I explored,” Mikoy admitted. “There was a time na I thought I was bi.”

“Siguro partly related dahil puro gay roles ‘yung mga nakukuha kong roles,” he added.

Mikoy said the roles he was getting also happened during a time of self-discovery.

“I was exploring my life outside the roles, and also on how to make the roles better. So parang better understanding, 'yung ganon.”

Mikoy’s fiancée, Isa Garcia, also appeared in the episode and said she did not know how to react to it at first.

“The fact na ‘yung magiging boyfriend ko or ‘yung boyfriend ko, artista na with sobrang daming kailangang gawing roles ganyan, na gay roles pa, meron kang iisipin na totoo ba ‘yun or hindi,” she said.

Isa added that she really appreciated it when Mikoy told her about exploring his sexuality.

“And I think that was enough for me na maging super okay about it.”

Mikoy is part of the cast of “Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan.”

He previously acted in the Metro Manila Film Festival Best Picture "Green Bones" and in the Kapuso historical series "Pulang Araw."

In 2023, Mikoy won the Best Actor Award at the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival for his role in “Tether.” —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
