Kris Aquino on public appearance on People Power anniversary: 'What a perfect coming out'
Kris Aquino on Tuesday night made her first public appearance in the Philippines since getting diagnosed with autoimmune diseases, and to her, the timing was "perfect."
The Queen of All Media attended PeopleAsia magazine's People of The Year 2025 awards night to support one of the awardees, Michael Leyva. The event coincided with the EDSA People Power anniversary.
In an Instagram Reel posted by PeopleAsia, Kris said, "I actually thought today was the 24th, tomorrow pa 'yung 25."
"Michael was the one who told me. So, sabi ko, 'Perfect! What a perfect coming out'," she added.
Kris wore a yellow top and a floral skirt over a pink blazer, accessorizing with a yellow face mask and a pair of pink eyeglasses.
In a report by Aubrey Carampel of GMA Integrated News, Kris said Leyva is among those who have shown steadfast support for her.
"There are people who would say 'I'll be there for you,' or 'maaasahan mo ako,' but Michael has proven so many times, and in so many ways," she said.
Earlier this month, Kris said that she now has seven autoimmune diseases. She returned to the Philippines in September 2024.
Meanwhile, besides Michael, Marian Rivera also received the People of The Year 2025 award.
