Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt praised by the Russo brothers ahead of 'The Electric State' release

Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt earned praise from filmmakers Anthony and Joseph Russo, famously known as the Russo brothers, ahead of the release of their sci-fi film "The Electric State."

In Lyn Ching's report on "24 Oras" Thursday, Anthony shared that a challenge for their movie was that it deals with complex ideas.

"It deals with a lot of heavy emotion, it deals with real loss in terms of the character relationships, but also we needed it to be fun and energetic and humorous and witty and it's very hard to find actors that can deliver on both those levels. I mean Chris Pratt is as funny as anybody you'll ever encounter," he said.

"The Electric State" follows the tale of Michelle (Millie), a girl with a mysterious robot, and Keats (Chris), an odd drifter. The three journey across a retro-futuristic America in search of Michelle's younger brother.

According to Joseph, they had Millie in mind for the character of Michelle and wrote the role for her.

"If we're gonna make a movie with a strong teenage female heroine, you can't think of anybody else you'd rather play that part than Millie," he said.

"And we wrote the role for her, so it's a good thing she said yes to playing it because it would've been difficult to cast somebody that could fill her shoes."

Aside from "The Electric State," the Russo brothers are known for directing several Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, namely "Captain America: The Winder Soldier" (2014), "Captain America: Civil War" (2016), "Avengers: Infinity War" (2018), and "Avengers: Endgame" (2019).

"The Electric State" premieres on Netflix Philippines on March 14.
