Michelle Dee drops empowering single 'Reyna'
Michelle Dee just released her first single!
In “Reyna,” the beauty queen and actress sings about the bashing she has received, and how it made her insecure.
Michelle says she no longer minds these comments, because “ako ay isang reyna.”
In an Instagram Reel, Michelle talked more about the meaning of “Reyna.”
“Here we are, fast forward two years post-reign, launching a song,” Michelle said.
“It's finding everything that people call ugly in you, but it's up to you to find the beauty in that,” she added.
Michelle said that this does not just apply to beauty queens and drag queens, “but everyone that feels like they are, in their own right, a reyna.”
“Reyna” is released under GMA Music and Star Music, the companies’ first collaboration. It is composed by Angelica Tagadtad, arranged and mixed by Theo Martel, vocal arrangement by Jonathan Manalo, and produced by Manalo and Rox Santos.
Michelle has been teasing “Reyna” for weeks with various photoshoots.
The Sparkle star is currently part of the cast of “Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan” as Apong Ayo, the protector of the ugtaw.
Michelle previously appeared in an episode of “Magpakailanman” opposite Rhian Ramos and participated as a guest host on “It’s Showtime.” —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
