Kris Bernal makes acting comeback with 'Tadhana'

Kris Bernal is making her TV return with “Tadhana.”

In a three-part series titled “Tadhana: Abo ng Kahapon,” the actress will portray a mother with a newborn baby, who moves to America with the hopes of giving her family a better life. She becomes a caregiver to an old man, who abuses her.

Meanwhile, her husband cheats on her back in the Philippines. Trouble comes when both their areas fall victim to large fires.

On Instagram, Kris said, “I never thought I would return to acting on TV after 2 years+ of motherhood break.”

She added that she was “halfhearted to accept” the project, “because I didn't know if I could still act, and because I'm still exclusively breastfeeding.”

The actress and entrepreneur said she thought about it for a few days before saying yes.

“Perhaps it's time for Hailee and I to move forward and try to establish new routines and habits. And, three days of taping wouldn't hurt so much, huh?!” Kris said.

“For now, episodes are all I can do,” she added. “Hmmm, let's see when we are ready to return to a teleserye.”

“Tadhana: Abo ng Kahapon” premieres Saturday, 3:15 p.m., on GMA-7 and on GMA Public Affairs' Facebook and YouTube livestream.

Kris and businessman Perry Choi got engaged in February of the same year. They got married in September 2021.

They welcomed their first child, Hailee Lucca, in August 2023.

The family is currently building their dream house.
