Mika Salamanca grateful to friend Ivana Alawi for staying when she was being bashed

Mika Salamanca is grateful for the friends who stood by her amid the challenges she faced before entering the “Pinoy Big Brother” house.

On Wednesday’s “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition" episode, the content creator opened up about how hard it was after her arrest in Hawaii and breakup with H2wo.

“Ang dami kong pinagdaanan, nagkaroon ako ng mga issues because I was young, I was alone, I made so many mistakes when I was a kid, when I was younger,” she said.

Mika admitted that she went back to the US to fill the void of the bashing she experienced at that time.

“Bumalik ako ng US tas ni-figure out ko ‘yung sarili ko, sabi ko ‘katapusan ko na ba, like katapusan na ba ng career ko’ kasi kapag na-bash ka ganoon eh, so nag-work ako ng tatlong job just to satisfy myself, just to fill the void na nawala nung na-bash ako, which is ako naman ‘yung may kasalanan,” she said.

When she came back to the Philippines, she was surprised that she was still accepted by many people, like fellow content creator Ivana Alawi, who is now also inside Kuya's house with her.

“Hinanap ko uli ‘yung sarili ko. Ni-try ko uli umuwi ng Pilipinas tas hindi ko inaasahan na tatanggapin ako ng mga tao, hanggang sa naka-meet ako ng bagong set of friends na nag-stay hanggang ngayon, Ate (Ivana), sila pa rin ‘yung friends ko hanggang ngayon,” Mika said.

“Tas binigay ni Lord sa akin ‘yung ‘PBB,’ na sobrang-sobrang pangarap ko na pumipila ako, 15 years old ako, ‘737.’ Hindi binigay ni Lord, sobrang frustrated talaga ako kasi hindi ko siya ganoon kakailangan, ngayon ko siya sobrang kailangan kasi ngayon ako bumalik, ngayon ako ready. I thank God for everything na pinagdaanan ko ngayon,” she added.

After Mika shared her story, Esnyr realized: “Nami-misunderstood po siya, may rason po pala lahat, hindi po nila alam ‘yung side ni Ate Mika.”

Ivana expressed how proud she is of Mika’s strength to face bashers.

“Mahirap po ang ma-bash, masakit po ‘yun and ako na-immune na ako kasi parang ‘di ko na binabasa and napaka-strong niya (Mika) kasi ang strong niya, nakakangiti siya tapos laban pa rin siya,” she said.
