'Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition' announces Kapuso-Kapamilya pairs

Big Brother still has new tricks up his sleeve as he revealed the twist in the format of “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition” on Wednesday.

As the housemates played “The Boat Is Sinking” and teamed up into groups of two, Kuya revealed the mechanics of the season: this year, the housemates will be competing in the pairs that they chose during the game.

The pair, composed of one Kapuso and Kapamilya artist, will be facing the weekly tasks, nominations, and evictions together.

“Sila ay magsasanib-pwersa dahil ang kapalaran ng isa ay kapalaran din ng kanyang kasama,” Big Brother said.

The housemates got mixed feelings after the new twist was revealed.

“There’s just so much joy inside of me, knowing that we’re (AC Bonifacio) so alike,” Charlie Fleming said.

Brent Manalo said, “Let’s see, Kuya, kung magkakasundo kami (Michael Sager), (kahit) na magkaiba kami ng ugali.”  

Here are the Kapamilya and Kapuso duos aiming to win “PBB: Celebrity Collab Edition:”

• Charlie Fleming (Sparkle) and AC Bonifacio (Star Magic)
• Mika Salamanca (Sparkle) and Ralph de Leon (Star Magic)
• Will Ashley (Sparkle) and River Joseph (Star Magic)
• Dustin Yu (Sparkle) and Klarisse de Guzman (Star Magic)
• Josh Ford (Sparkle) and Kira Balinger (Star Magic)
• Michael Sager (Sparkle) and Brent Manalo (Star Magic)
• Ashley Ortega (Sparkle) and Ivana Alawi (Star Magic)
• AZ Martinez (Sparkle) and Esnyr Ranollo (Star Magic)

Ashley’s fate is yet to be revealed after she was paired up with Ivana, who only has a limited amount of time at the yellow house with her celebrity house guest status.

This is not the first time that duos competed in “PBB.” Twins Joj and Jai Agpangan, queer couple Dingdong Bahan and Patrick Ramirez, among others, joined the show as a tandem during their time.

“Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition” airs new episodes on GMA Network at 10 p.m. weekdays and at 6:15 p.m. on weekends. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
