Andrea Torres to play role of tahong vendor in 'Akusada'

Andrea Torres will play the role of a tahong vendor in her upcoming GMA Afternoon Prime series, "Akusada."

In Nelson Canlas' report on "24 Oras," Wednesday, Andrea said that part of her preparation for the project was watching a documentary episode by Kara David.

"Sobrang dami niyang natulong sa 'min pagdating sa kung paano ko ipo-posisyon 'yung sarili ko dito sa role na 'to. Ako mismo parang, wow, ito pala 'yung sa likod ng mga nakikita natin sa araw-araw natin na buhay, ito pala 'yung pinagdadaanan nila," she said.

Andrea hopes that the series becomes informative for the viewers.

The series also marks Andrea's first time working on a longer project with her leading man, Benjamin Alves.

"Meron kaming ginawang isang memorable 'Magpakailanman' episode, so parang na-feel namin do'n na para kaming team, para kaming love team kahit na never pa kami nagsama sa isang show," she said.

According to Andrea, she watched Benjamin on "Widows' War," and she was surprised by his performance.

"I've always been a fan of Ada," Benjamin said. "And apparently they're gonna do a little bit of experimenting with the show to make it more fast-paced, make it more what the market, or 'yung mga Kapuso natin, what they want at the moment."

Andrea and Benjamin will star alongside Lianne Valentin, Jennifer Maravilla, Arnold Reyes, Princess Aliyah, Marco Masa, Jourdanne Baldonido, and more. —Carby Rose Basina/MGP, GMA Integrated News
