Jericho Rosales receives letter from Karylle on 'Quezon' set: 'From Aurora to Manuel'

Jericho Rosales received a touching letter from Karylle on the set of the “Quezon” biopic.

The theater star and “It’s Showtime” host sent the letter in character as Aurora, Quezon’s wife.

In floral stationery, she addressed it, “Minamahal kong Manuel, Sweetheart,” and expressed her support for him in the upcoming Philippine elections.

“Alam kong maraming pinagdadaanan ang iyong puso at damdamin. Ako’y saksi sa ‘yong kagustuhang umunlad at gumanda ang ating bayan.”

The letter added Aurora grew up during the revolution, where she lost her father. “Ipagpatuloy lang natin ang kanyang laban patungo sa tunay na independencia.”

“Tatagan mo lamang ang iyong loob at alam naman natin ang takbo ng pulitika. I am with you,” Aurora added. “’You can’t lose with Quezon’ ika nga ng marami.”

The letter was signed, “Besos y abrazas, tu esposa, Aurora.” According to a translation from Spanish, this means, “Kisses and hugs, your wife, Aurora.”

Jericho was moved by the gesture and said on his Instagram Story, “2nd letter from Aurora to Manuel through [Karylle.]”

The actor added, “This is so generous, thank you so much.”

Production is underway for the upcoming biopic. It will follow the life of Manuel L. Quezon, a lawyer and a soldier who became the President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines from 1935 to 1944, highlighting his tumultuous presidential campaign against Emilio Aguinaldo.

More cast members include Mon Confiado as Emilio Aguinaldo; "Game of Thrones" star Iain Glen as Leonard Wood, the United States Army major who served as Governor-General of the Philippines from 1921 to 1927; Benjamin Alves as a younger version of Quezon; and Joross Gamboa as Eduardo Rusca
