Chanty Videla clarifies status of Lapillus

Chanty Videla set the record straight about the status of her K-pop group Lapillus.

On Tuesday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the Filipina-Argentinian actress denied that Lapillus had already disbanded.

"We're just on a break right now," Chanty clarified.

She also thanked their beloved fans who are looking forward to their comeback and to their solo activities as well.

"For now, I'm just focused dito sa mga projects ko especially may 'Maka' ako and I have an upcoming movie 'Samahan ng mga Makasalanan' and kasama rin po ako sa 'Sanggang Dikit.' So mag-focus muna kayo mga Lapis sa mga projects ko and eventually you'll see Lapillus again," Chanty said.

Previously, Chanty confirmed to GMA News Online that she is still part of the group.

The group of Chanty, Shana, Yue, Bessie, Seowon, and Haeun debuted in 2022 under MLD Entertainment with the song "Hit Ya!"

Lapillus was among the artists who attended, won awards, and performed at the 2023 Asia Artist Awards held at the Philippine Arena last December.

Last April 2024, Chanty "indefinitely" postponed her activities with the group following struggles with her health.

Chanty, who signed a contract with Sparkle in 2022, currently stars in "Maka." She is also among the cast of the upcoming movie "Samahan ng mga Makasalanan" which will premiere on April 19 in cinemas nationwide. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News
