Tribute to the Superstar: Here are the registration details to Nora Aunor's state necrological service on April 22

The state necrological service for National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Nora Aunor will be held tomorrow, April 22, at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila.

According to the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), arrival honors will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by a tribute program at 9:00 a.m.

The rites will continue with a state funeral at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City.

The necrological service is open to the public for free but requires registration and a ticket as the seating capacity is limited.

Those who wish to attend are required to register and secure their tickets via Ticketmelon.

  • Choose the “Balcony” section to view the seat map.
  • Pick your preferred seat, then click “Buy Tickets.”
  • Fill in your personal information as prompted.
  • Click “Proceed” to continue to the contact information page, where you will need to enter your email address.

Once your transaction is completed, your e-ticket that bears a QR code will be sent to the email you provided.

Only one balcony entrance will be used for the public. The line will start at Padre Burgos Avenue corner Dr. Basa Street.

Only those with QR codes will be allowed to enter the Metropolitan Theater. Parking is limited to VIPs, so it is advised not to bring a vehicle to the service.

The balcony entrance will open at 7 a.m.

The state necrological service will also be livestreamed via the Facebook pages of NCCA and CCP.

Nora passed away on April 16 at the age of 71. According to her son Ian De Leon, the National Artist died of acute respiratory failure.

The multi-awarded actress was named National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022. Some of her films can be streamed online, including "Himala," "Minsa'y Isang Gamu-gamo," and "Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos."

In the wake of Nora's passing, many celebrities took to social media to honor her memory and unimpeachable legacy.

The world also joined the Philippines in mourning Nora, with several international media outlets publishing stories about her death.
