Rufa Mae Quinto shares hopeful message after end of her legal case: 'Lahat pwede magsimula ulit'
Rufa Mae Quinto thanked all her supporters and shared a hopeful message now that the case for her alleged violations of the securities regulation code has ended.
The actress and comedienne guested in "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" Friday where she expressed her gratitude to her friends, family, and fans for not leaving her side when she faced her legal case.
"Thank you mga friends, fans, and family, mga endorsements ko hindi niyo ko iniwan. Naniwala naman, pati 'yung mga tao, kaya God is good din," she said.
According to Rufa Mae, the case against her was dismissed due to technicalities. Although she did not go into detail, she mentioned that her arrest warrant was not sent to her but to a different address.
"Kaya nga maganda dito, nabasura at tsaka isang beses lang ako umattend kaya 'yan lang, 'yang araw na 'yan tapos hanggang sa nitong April 25, na-lift na, na-quash na," she said.
She also gave a hopeful message to all of those who supported her.
"Lahat naman pwede magsimula ulit. Lahat pwedeng magsimula. Simulan natin sa pakikipagkapwa-tao, 'yung clean slate, 'di ba. Tapos hindi tayo magiging judgmental. 'Yung bago, 'di ba, hindi tayo judgmental,"
Pertaining to life in general and not her case, Rufa then said that one should accept their own faults and learn from these experiences.
"Nagkamali ka pero hinahanap mo kung paano ka matututo mag-isa, so ang maganda dapat meron tayong [natututunan] din. Kahit hindi natin alam kung ngayon na ba matututo or bukas or kung kelan man, pero wag tayong matakot harapin," she said.
In December 2024, Rufa Mae was involved in an investment scam in relation to the issue of Dermacare.
She was charged with 14 counts of violation of Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code, which states that securities such as shares and investments may not be sold in the Philippines without a registration statement duly filed with and approved by the SEC.
Following her arrest warrant, Rufa Mae denied her involvement in the scam issue and vowed to cooperate with the authorities. She voluntarily surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation and posted bail amounting to P1.7 million.
On May 2, Rufa confirmed the end of her legal case on X (formerly Twitter) where she thanked all of her supporters.
"Maraming salamat sa naniwala sa akin and yes, tapos na ang kaso!" she said. "I'm free and alive! I love you all! Move on na tayo."
