Shamcey Supsup on councilor race loss in Pasig 1st district: ‘We stood firm in our principles’

Shamcey Supsup on councilor race loss in Pasig 1st district: ‘We stood firm in our principles’

Shamcey Supsup acknowledged her defeat in her bid to become one of Pasig City's first district councilors.

On Instagram Tuesday, the former beauty queen reflected on her candidacy.

“We have already won because we never lost who we are,” she wrote.

For Shamcey, her candidacy was not just about getting the seat but also about “proving that dignity, honesty, and heart still have a place in public service.”

“In every step of this journey, we chose integrity over shortcuts, truth over convenience, and compassion over division. We stood firm in our principles, spoke up for what we believed in, and remained grounded in purpose,” she added.

She ended her post by telling her supporters, “Thank you for walking with me.”

As of 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Shamcey has 39,452 votes in Pasig's 1st District councilor race based on partial and unofficial results. She trails behind Simon Tantoco (103,641), Kiko Rustia (99,767), Pao Santiago (87,855), Volta Delos Santos (84,374), Eric Gonzales (72,179), and  Paul Senogat (69,838).

Shamcey ran as an independent candidate in the 2025 midterm elections. In April, she resigned from her political party, KAYA THIS, following the controversial solo parent remark of one of its members, Christian Sia.
