Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo say they need to stay professional on ‘Sanggang Dikit FR’

Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo are starring in their first TV project as husband and wife, “Sanggang Dikit FR.”

During the series' grand media conference, the married Kapuso couple said that while they enjoy working together, they understand they need to maintain professionalism on set.

Jennylyn said, “Kasi ‘pag sa bahay, iba ‘yon. Nasa bahay kami bilang mga magulang, mag-asawa. Pagdating sa set, mga artista kami.”

(It's different at home. When we're at home, we are parents, we are a married couple. When we're on set, we are artists.)

The Ultimate Star added, “Kahit na nag-a-away kami or may problema kami na dala-dala, hindi pwedeng makita sa set. Kailangan gawin niyo ‘yung mga trabaho niyo muna. Pagdating sa bahay, 'saka niyo pag-usapan.

(If we are fighting or if we have a problem we cannot bring that on set. We need to do our work first. Then we figure things out when we get home.)

According to Jennylyn, this is who they are as people and as artists, adding they also give each other constructive criticism at work.

“Hindi na kami nahihiya sabihin sa isa’t isa ‘yung ‘pwede mo ‘tong gawin’ o kaya ano, ‘parang hindi okay ‘yung ginawa mo. Dapat ganito.’”

Meanwhile, Dennis said there is no “sawaan” between them even if they spend all their time together at home and at work.

“Siguro ‘pag mahal niyo ‘yung isa’t isa, kahit gano na kayo katagal magkasama—kahit magkasama kayo sa trabaho, magkasama kayo sa bahay—kung talagang gusto mo siya makasama, parang ‘pag nandun ‘yung pagmamahal, never ka magsasawa eh,” he said.

(I think if you love each other, even if you're always together at home and at work, you don't get tire of each other.)

Dennis added that it is important for them to have quality time at work or at home, and to go on dates or trips.

Jennylyn said, “Para sa ‘kin okay na magkasama kami sa trabaho, kasi ano eh, clingy ako eh.”

In “Sanggang-Dikit FR,” Jennylyn Mercado stars as Roberta "Bobby" Enriquez, a bubbly yet highly competitive police woman. Dennis Trillo plays Antonio "Tonyo" Guerrero, a skilled policeman who loves to improvise when solving crimes.

Both burdened by personal losses, Bobby and Tony are brought together when a high-profile murder happens involving people who are very close to them.

In February, Jennylyn and Dennis went target shooting in preparation for the project.

Jennylyn started shooting for the series the same month and admitted that she felt the jitters. According to the couple, physical scenes are a challenge.
