Joyce Pring reveals she's about to graduate college: 'A dream 15 years in the making'
After 15 years, Joyce Pring is about to achieve a major dream: graduating college.
On Instagram, the actress and host revealed that she's been studying again since 2023, after dropping out of university over a decade ago.
In her caption, she wrote about how at 18, she was "crushed" over having to stop her studies. She had to start working due to financial and family instability.
"I carried that pain and shame well into my young adulthood," Joyce said. "I used to think about my 'wasted' potential — what I could've become if I had been given the chance to finish."
"But in my mid-20s, I began to realize: even though I didn't follow the traditional path, God still made much of my life," she added.
Joyce said that in her 13 years in the media industry, she got to anchor a radio show, host daily on TV, and sustain a great career.
And then, in 2023, her manager and mentor, Mama Betchay, told her to pursue her undergraduate degree.
"I always wondered what she saw in me that would render such palpable confidence that I could, on top of being a wife, new mom, and a career woman, achieve something so consuming... but she never relented. So I finally obeyed," Joyce said.
Joyce said she wanted to "close a chapter I'd left open 15 years ago." She enrolled at the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA to pursue the degree Bachelor of Arts in Communication.
"I wanted to fulfill this dream, because diploma o diskarte is a false dichotomy; one can do both, even if it's a long and arduous journey."
As Joyce waits to march and claim her diploma, she thanked the faculty, her dean, and thesis advisor, among others.
She also honored her husband Juancho Triviño, her "constant encourager."
"Juancho, your love and leadership have radically transformed me; my greatest treasure, second only to Jesus, is to be called your beloved," she said.
