Barbie Forteza reacts to seeing 'P77' film poster for the first time
Barbie Forteza could not hide her excitement when she finally saw the official poster of her upcoming horror film, "P77."
On Monday's contract signing of GMA Pictures and Warner Bros. Philippines for the distribution of the upcoming film, the Kapuso Primetime Princess shared her thoughts upon seeing the film poster of "P77" for the first time.
“’Yung peg nakita ko na pero mas maganda ‘yung naging outcome niya,” Barbie told GMA News Online.
“S’yempre ako [pa] lang ang nakakaalam pero ganitong ganito kasi talaga ‘yung feel ng pelikula,” she added. “Ang galing.”
For Barbie, starring in a horror film like "P77" is a personal career milestone. At the same time, she said that it's also a challenge that she has been looking for as an actress.
"It's very different, and especially for this film, it's a different kind of horror because it attacks your mind," she said.
“More than the jump scare, it’s really what’s going inside your head that is [scarier],” she added. “Parang fear lives in your mind so mas ‘yun ‘yung kakalikutin natin sa pelikula na ‘to.”
"P77," which stands for Penthouse 77, will also star Euwenn Mikaell, Gina Pareño, and Jackie Lou Blanco.
The film is directed by Derick Cabrido, the filmmaker behind the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 entry "Mallari," and produced by GMA Pictures and Clever Minds Inc.
It was written by Enrico Santos, and the story was told by Anj Atienza and Xtian Julao.
"P77" is coming to cinemas on July 30.
