Andrea Torres expresses joy as 'Akusada' makes premiere: 'Ito talaga 'yung dream ko'
Andrea Torres' new series, "Akusada," finally premiered on GMA Afternoon Prime on Monday, a moment that the Sparkle star considers a big achievement.
According to Aubrey Carampel's report in "24 Oras" Tuesday, the cast of "Akusada" held a watch party for the series' pilot episode.
"Parang emotional 'tong day na 'to for me, ito talaga 'yung dream ko eh, anything na may nangyayari tungkol sa career ko, malaking bagay for me," Andrea said.
The actress added that she still gets moved by the series even though she already knows what happens in the script.
"Kahit na alam ko na 'yung nangyari, kahit nabasa ko na 'yung script, parang bumabalik ulit 'yung mga emosyon. Hopefully 'yun din 'yung naramdaman ng mga tao," she said.
Much awaits viewers of "Akusada," as Andrea shared that there will be more revelations in the coming episodes.
"Merong mga bulungan sa gilid na irereveal namin sa inyo na hindi niyo nakita nung una or merong mga hidden sequences na ganiyan na makakatulong sa inyo para ipagdugtong-dugtong sino ba talaga ang dapat nating sisihin sa nangyaring ito," she said
"Akusada" also stars Benjamin Alves, Marco Masa, Ashley Sarmiento, Ahron Villena, Jennifer Maravilla, Arnold Reyes, Sandy Andolong, Max Collins, and more.
Ahead of the series' premiere, Ben took to social media on Monday to express his pride for Andrea and thanked her for letting him be her leading man in "Akusada."
"I hope I’m giving you plenty to work with on set. Finally, after so many years of doing one-off specials - we finally get to do a full feature soap! As a cast and family of 'Akusada,' we are so excited and honored to have you lead us in this wonderful and engaging story," Ben had said.
"Akusada," directed by award-winning director Dominic Zapata, premieres on June 30 at 4 p.m.
It follows the story of a woman named Carolina Astor (Andrea) who changes her identity to Lorena Herrera and lives a new life after being accused of a crime she did not commit.
"Akusada" airs Mondays to Fridays on GMA Afternoon Prime at 4 p.m.
