Gladys Reyes, Vina Morales' online exchange as 'Cruz vs. Cruz' characters earns praise from netizens
"Cruz vs. Cruz" has yet to premiere on GMA Network, but it's already got netizens hooked thanks to Gladys Reyes' and Vina Morales' intriguing video exchange online as their characters in the show.
On Instagram last week, Vina shared a video of her in character as Felma, her role in the series.
In the video, she tearfully narrates how her OFW partner abandoned her and their kids after he impregnated another woman abroad. He then marries the other woman.
Days later, Gladys Reyes, as her character Hazel, posted a thorny video on her own Instagram in response to Vina's character, where she called her "pa-victim."
"Anong kine-claim mo, nauna ka? Nauna kayo nagkaanak ,eh ba't hindi ka pinakasalan? Mag-isip ka, bakit hindi ka pinakasalan? Ako ang pinakasalan," she said.
According to Athena Imperial's report in "24 Oras" Friday, the online video exchange between the veteran actresses has since gone viral and earned praises from netizens.
"Walang kupas Miss Gladys sobrang galing mo [talaga] noon at ngayon," a netizen commented on Instagram.
"Galing talaga umiyak at umarte ng idol ko ang husay," a user also said.
"Bagong teleserye? Galing pa din talaga!" another said
Per Gladys, women today are more familiar with their rights, especially when they are the legal partner.
"Kaya siguro ganun na lang 'yung naging reaksyon ng mga tao, ang babae andaming sakripisyo para sa pamilya to keep it together at syempre kasama na dun kung papaano kayo mags-stick together ng iyong asawa o ng iyong partner," she said.
Meanwhile, speaking as her character Felma, Vina gave advice for single mothers.
"Maging matibay ka lang, kailangan mo lang mag-survive eh sa mga ganitong pangyayari sa buhay. Kayang-kaya natin 'yan, lalo na pag nandiyan 'yung mga mahal natin sa buhay na sumusuporta at nasa paligid mo," she said.
"Cruz vs. Cruz" follows the story of the two families of Manuel Cruz. He left his original family in the Philippines to work abroad and provide for them. During his time as an OFW, he meets a woman who lures him to marry her after she gets pregnant.
Aside from Gladys and Vina, it also stars Neil Ryan Sese, Kristoffer Martin, Lexi Gonzales, Elijah Alejo, Caprice Cayetano, Pancho Magno, and more.
"Cruz vs. Cruz" is directed by Gil Tejada and will premiere on GMA Network soon.
