Barbie Forteza clarifies Jameson Blake is just a friend: 'We are not together'
Barbie Forteza has clarified that she and actor Jameson Blake are just friends.
In her GMA Integrated News interview with Nelson Canlas, which aired in "24 Oras" Friday, the Kapuso Primetime Princess shared that she and Jameson had worked in a film together and that it was he who invited her to join a run with him.
"Actually marami ngang medyo na-confuse kasi papaano naman nagkrus ang landas namin? So nagkasama kami sa pelikula," she said.
"Itong recent run namin, siya naman 'yung nag-invite, just like how my other runner friends invite me to run. So 'yun lang 'yun, 'yun lang talaga 'yun. We are not together."
Last month, Barbie and Jameson fueled dating rumors after Jameson shared snaps of himself and Barbie joining a 10K run together.
In her GMA Integrated News interview, Barbie also talked about her close friendship with Alden Richards, whom she considers among her constants.
She likewise refused to discuss the photo of herself and ex-boyfriend Jak Roberto taken at GMA Network's Beyond 75 anniversary event, where they were spotted chatting. Barbie announced their breakup in January after seven years together.
As she looked back on her 16 years in the showbiz industry, Barbie admitted that she's had her fair share of highs and lows.
"Pero ang naging consistent since day one 'yung respeto sa akin ng mga tao. Even the people around me, see how much I respect everyone's time, my craft, my passion, and 'yung trabaho ng lahat," she said.
Barbie's upcoming horror film "P77," which stands for Penthouse 77, will premiere in cinemas on July 30. She will star in the film alongside Euwenn Mikaell, Gina Pareño, and Jackie Lou Blanco.
"P77" is directed by Derick Cabrido, the filmmaker behind the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 entry "Mallari," and produced by GMA Pictures and Clever Minds Inc. It is written by Enrico Santos and the story is by Anj Atienza and Xtian Julao.
Barbie also currently stars in "Beauty Empire" alongside Kyline Alcantara, Ruffa Gutierrez, South Korean actor Choi Bo Min, and more. It airs Mondays to Thursdays at 9:35 p.m. on GMA Network. It is also available on Viu.
