7 reasons why Will Ashley captured hearts as the Nation's Son

Will Ashley is one of the most beloved housemates in the "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition," getting dubbed by viewers as the Nation's Son.

With the moniker "Ang Mama's Dreambae ng Cavite," Will has always embraced his identity as a loving son to his Mommy Mindy. His earnestness captured the hearts of netizens, who have been calling him "anak" online.

Here are seven reasons that made Will one of this season's standouts.

1. A mama's boy through and through

Will is undeniably a mama's boy. Inside the house, he never hesitated to show his affection for his mom. When he and his duo, River Joseph, were nominated for the first eviction, Will grew emotional and wished he could hug his mom to make everything feel better.

When house guest Donny Pangilinan surprised the housemates with gifts from their loved ones, Will received his favorite dish, Kinalamansiang Manok, lovingly prepared by his Mommy Mindy. The thoughtful gesture moved him to tears.

But it was their heartfelt reunion during the final stretch of the season that truly captured the nation's heart. When Mommy Mindy entered the house and Will ran like a little boy to embrace her, it was a moment that tugged at the heartstrings of the viewers.

2. Kaldag King

During the early days of PBB Collab, Will revealed another talent beyond acting: dancing. In a pageant-inspired task called "Pinoy Big Boys," he and the other male housemates showcased their dance moves to impress the female housemates, who served as the judges.

He also wowed the audience with his sleek and groovy dance moves—complete with a signature kaldag—during the talent portion, earning him the coveted "Best in Kaldag" award.

When he returned to the outside world, Will did a couple of videos that showed his hidden talent, proving his title as this season's Kaldag King.

3. 'Ma, ano ulam?'

In PBB, Will truly showed his homebody side. The Sparkle star was often seen hanging around the kitchen—not to cook, but to eagerly watch his mowm Klarisse De Guzman prepare meals.

In one episode featuring a scene where Vince Maristela was helping Klarisse in the kitchen, Will suddenly appeared out of nowhere and asked Klarisse, "Ano ulam?"—a moment that drew laughter from viewers.

4. Green tea-flavored drink obsession

Not everyone's into green tea-flavored drinks, but Will? He was hooked—like it was his daily dose of happiness. 

While the other housemates ignore it, Will can always be found with a bottle, drinking it like it's water.

Even in the outside world, it's Will and his green tea drink against the world.

5. A walking meme

Will's sense of humor is definitely a top-tier. During his time in the house, the Kapuso star delivered laugh-out-loud moments that turned him into a certified meme—thanks to his hilarious facial expressions and his unforgettable Sadness from "Inside Out" look, complete with eyeglasses and a blue-green wig.

6. Bigas slayer

Aside from being task slayer along with his final duo Ralph De Leon, Will is also a bigas slayer. 

He was often caught casually munching on raw, uncooked rice. No wonder he and Saing King, Ralph, are the perfect pair!

7. Will the egg borrower

Will is the ultimate "egg borrower" inside Bahay ni Kuya, always on a mission to snag some itlog.

With his love for eggs, Will often found himself borrowing some from his housemates—including Kira Balinger.

After leaving the house, he was gifted a box of eggs and jokingly reassured everyone that he'd repay every single one he borrowed from the housemates.
