Michael V. warns vs. fake account using his identity

Michael V. issued a warning to his followers after discovering a fake account impersonating him.

On Instagram Friday, the Kapuso Comedy Genius posted a screenshot of the bogus profile, which used his photo, name, and the username @michaelbitoy, alerting the public that it was a scam account.

“BEWARE: FAKE Account/Profile!” Bitoy wrote.

“Eto na naman tayo. Hindi ko po account or profile ‘to. Scammer ‘to. Baka hingan kayo ng information pati sa mga kakilala n’yo. I-block and report n’yo agad,” he said.

Among those who commented on the post was Mikey Bustos, who revealed he was almost fooled by the scammer.

“I almost got scammed by him! Thank you for saving me!” Mikey wrote with a laughing emoji.

In May, Bitoy was also warned his followers of a deepfake video that used his image and voice to mislead people into buying a product.

“Maging alisto. Huwag magpa-loko,” he had said.
