Jo Berry to star as Judge Lilet Matias-Ignacio in 'Akusada'

Jo Berry is reprising her role as the well-loved lawyer Lilet Matias as she crosses over to the GMA Afternoon Prime series "Akusada," starring Andrea Torres

According to Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras" Monday, Atty. Lilet Matias is now Judge Lilet Matias-Ignacio.

She will be handling the case of Carolina, played by Andrea, who has taken on a new identity as Lorena after accidentally killing Joi (Max Collins), the first wife of her now-husband, Wilfred (Benjamin Alves).

"Para ilagay ulit, isulat ulit as cameo sa ibang show, ibig sabihin tumatak din talaga 'yung role ni Lilet Matias kaya na-touch po talaga ako," said Jo.

"Sobrang laki po ng magiging role niya kasi sa kaniya nakasalalay kung anong mangyayari kay Carolina Astor kaya abangan niyo po lahat 'yan."

"Lilet Matias: Attorney-At-Law" aired its last episode on GMA Afternoon Prime in February.

Aside from Jo's "Akusada" appearance, she is also gearing up for a new project, teasing, "Sobrang exciting po, first time ko rin po makakatrabaho 'yung mga makakasama ko doon."

Meanwhile, Andrea gave viewers an idea of what to expect in the coming episodes of "Akusada," which are bound to be gripping.

"Talagang haharapin na niya 'yung kasalanan niya at lahat ng mga tao rin na p-pwedeng maging witness, p-pwedeng makatulong o hindi makatulong sa kaso niya," she said.

She also described the court scenes they filmed as "very heavy," adding, "We made sure na gandahan din kung paano namin ipe-present 'tong mga eksena."

"Akusada" airs weekdays at 4:05 p.m. on GMA Afternoon Prime
