AZ Martinez's fans get star 'named' after Sparkle actress

AZ Martinez has received a special gift from her beloved AZpires!

According to a post on X (formerly Twitter), AZ's official fanbase Team AZ Official, they got a star named after the Sparkle star.

The fanbase shared the heartwarming gift by posting the official star certificate from the Online Star Register, which bears the name "Azriel"—a nod to AZ's real name. The star is located in the constellation Pisces, which also happens to be AZ's zodiac sign.

"For someone who lights up our world, we wanted to give a gift that shines just as bright. As a surprise, we've officially named a star in the constellation Pisces after her — our star 'Azriel,'" the caption read.

The Online Star Register (OSR) lets you name a star as a gift, which can be a fun and unique idea. Just keep in mind that the name you choose isn’t officially recognized by the scientific community. Only the International Astronomical Union (IAU) has the authority to give stars their official names.

Services like OSR create their own private star databases. When you name a star, they’ll usually send you a certificate, the star’s coordinates, and access to an app or website where you can find it in the sky. According to their website, prices start at $29 USD, or around P1,600.

Aside from the star, AZ also received a couple of gifts from her fans during her fan meeting on Saturday in Quezon City.

AZ ended her "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition" journey as the fourth Big Placer alongside her Kapamilya duo River Joseph.
