Glaiza De Castro talks about Pirena's intense fight scenes, struggles with modern slang

Even Glaiza De Castro never imagined Sang'gre Pirena uttering Gen Z slang!

In an interview on "Unang Hirit" on Friday, the Kapuso actress expressed amusement on her character's delivery of words such as "winarla-warla" and "ganern." 

"Hindi ko rin na-imagine si Pirena na nagsasalita na ganon, so na-imagine ko 'yung stress niya," Glaiza said. "Eh galing pa naman siya sa usap niya with Terra na na-stress siya."

Glaiza also talked about the work that went into Pirena's impressive fight scenes, such as an epic backflip while wearing boots.

"Nilaban ko po talaga na isama 'yung boots na yan," she said. "Ilang beses din po namin siya ni-rehearse."

She admitted that she struggled with that stunt, because she got dizzy during rehearsals, to the point where she had to request for a break. Additionally, the harness could get painful, especially when she had to do stunts over and over.

"Hindi talaga sanay ang katawan ko to do fight scenes like that," she said.

"Nung 2016, hindi ganyan ka-intense... kung baga intense na, pero walang mga pa-backflip," she added. "Nag-level up ang aming mga fight scenes."

In recent episodes, Pirena and Terra (Bianca Umali) finally came face-to-face again with full awareness of each other's real identities.
