Jeraldine Blackman of the Blackman Family to undergo heart surgery
Jeraldine Blackman of the internet-famous Blackman Family is set to undergo heart surgery.
On social media, the Filipina-Australian content creator shared an update about her heart condition. She was diagnosed with a left ventricular septal aneurysm in June 2022, which had remained stable for years until recently.
“For the past three years, I’ve been closely monitored, and this year I’m finally having surgery,” Jeraldine said.
A left ventricular septal aneurysm is a bulge in the wall dividing the heart’s left and right ventricles, usually caused by damage such as a heart attack.
Jeraldine said that her cardiologist detected an arrhythmia, or abnormal heart rhythm, during her latest check-up. This is called Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Ventricular Tachycardia (RVOT VT), she added.
“Six months ago, these extra beats weren’t there, so this is something new.”
“According to the cardiologists I’ve seen here in Australia, my aneurysm is likely a condition I was born with—or even developed before birth,” she added.
For now, Jeraldine will wear heart monitors for two weeks. After the monitoring period, her cardiologist will determine a date for surgery.
Despite the diagnosis, Jeraldine assured her supporters that she is staying strong.
“Please don’t worry. I’m okay! I’ve got Jette and Nimo with me in this battle!” she said, referring to her kids who continue to support her through this journey.
She also promised to keep everyone updated about her surgery plans and progress in the coming weeks.
Jeraldine is the matriarch of the Blackman Family. She previously announced that she and her husband, Josh, have separated but remain friends.
The Blackman Family took the internet by storm with their adorable and super wholesome family content on social media. They signed a contract with Sparkle last year.
Based in Sydney, Australia, the Blackman family is comprised of Australian dad Josh, Filipina mom Jeraldine, and their two kids, adorable Jette and Nimo.
