Sofia Pablo, Allen Ansay to lead upcoming horror movie ‘Huwag Kang Titingin’

Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay are set to deliver their acting chops in the upcoming horror movie “Huwag Kang Titingin.”

AlFia or Team Jolly will be headlining the film, which will also feature fellow Sparkle stars Marco Masa, Michael Sager, Sean Lucas, Josh Ford, Anthony Constantino, Charlie Fleming, Shuvee Etrata, and Sherilyn Reyes, as well as Kapamilya actress Kira Balinger.

In Nelson Canlas' report on "24 Oras" Thursday, Sofia and Allen expressed their excitement to be part of "Huwag Kang Titingin."

"Syempre po nakakakaba. Una, sana hindi kami multuhin and exciting kasi I'm a big fan of horror movies," shared Sofia. 

"Sobrang excited ako kasi first movie ko talaga 'to and talagang medyo mabigat talaga 'yung character," said Allen. "Parehas pa naman kami ni Sofia, ako kasi matatakutin, siya magugulatin, so tingnan natin dito. Mukhang magiging totoo 'yung mga reactions namin," said Allen.

The film is co-produced by GMA Pictures and Mentorque Productions Inc.

GMA Pictures and Mentorque Productions Inc. held a contract signing on Thursday to bring the new horror film to cinemas soon.

Present at the contract signing were GMA Network Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide and Support Group Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, GMA Senior Vice President for Public Affairs Nessa Valdellon, and Mentorque Productions Inc. Chief Executive Officer John Bryan Diamante

According to Gozon-Valdes, GMA Pictures had been planning to collaborate with the production company for the past two years. 

"We've known Mentorque to be a very, very good horror movie producer. We have a great story, it's something new, we have an exciting cast, and with this strong partnership, I feel that nandito lahat ng recipe for success," she said in the report. 

Diamante also expressed his joy to be collaborating with GMA Network on the horror film.

"Sobrang natutuwa sa geneoristy ng GMA. To work with isa sa pinakamalaki sa industriya ng entertainment dito sa 'ting bansa, to extend their arm sa mga baguhan kagaya namin, so napakalaking event nito para sa 'min," he said.

Directed by Frasco Mortiz, “Huwag Kang Titingin” offers a fresh take on Filipino horror, blending a chilling Gen Z-inspired narrative with the eerie pull of local folklore and viral internet challenges.

Beyond its jump scares and suspense, the film aims to leave a deeper impact—connecting with audiences through emotional resonance and a strong sense of cultural identity.

Mentorque Productions Inc. is the production company behind the award-winning films “Mallari,” “Kono Basho,” and “Uninvited.” 

Meanwhile, Sofia and Allen last starred in the GMA Afternoon Prime Series “Prinsesa ng City Jail.”
