Dingdong Dantes on Marian Rivera's FAMAS win: 'She really loves her craft as an actress'

Dingdong Dantes is nothing short of proud of Marian Rivera after her Best Actress win at the 73rd Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards for her role as Teacher Emmy in Direk Kip Oebanda's "Balota."

In Athena Imperial's report on "24 Oras" Friday, the Kapuso Primetime King shared that it has always been Marian's dream to play a role like Teacher Emmy.

"Bonus na talaga na nagkaroon siya ng recognition pero now that the awards are really coming in, 'di ba, 'yung mga recognition ng Best Actress niya for that specific role really means so much to her because she really loves her craft as an actress," he said.

Dingdong had also previously shared a photo of Marian from their dinner together following her win.

"Sitting across a FAMAS Best Actress," he said proudly.

Last year, Marian won the Best Actress award for "Balota" at the Cinemalaya 2024, sharing the trophy with Gabby Padilla ("Kono Basho").

Meanwhile, Dingdong won big at the 37th Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Television this August, taking home the Best Game Show Host award for "Family Feud."

The Kapuso actor is also currently part of GMA Network's "Be Juan Tama" advocacy campaign, which encourages viewers to choose content that fosters mental, emotional, and social growth.

"Sila talaga 'yung consumers, sila 'yung pwedeng manuod sa amin, sila 'yung pu-puwedeng makakuha ng mga kwento dahil sa aming mga trabaho, dahil sa aming ginagawa, dahil sa aming propseyon so we always, always keep them in mind," Dingdong said of Kapuso viewers.

Dingdong is also set to lead the upcoming Kapuso series, "Master Cutter." He will be joined by Max Collins and Shuvee Etrata, among others.
