Rez Cortez unbothered by lack of acting awards in long career

With a career spanning 50 years in both television and the big screen, it's surprising that Rez Cortez hasn't gotten an acting award.

During Wednesday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the veteran actor said that he doesn't mind it as he understands how the industry works.

"Hindi ako nagtatampo. Kasi naiintindihan ko kung paano mag-work ang award-giving bodies. Siguro marami akong nominations pero hindi ako nananalo kasi mas magaling 'yung kalaban ko in that particular time," Rez said.

"Although masarap maraming awards," he added. 

Rez has starred in several films in his decades-long career. Among them were "Insiang," "Maging Sino Ka Man," "Mistah," and "Kristo." 

He also starred in the hit Kapuso series "Ika-6 na Utos." 

In 2021, the actor underwent surgery for suspected liver cancer. He has been declared cancer-free since then. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News
