Did Fifi Sharma date Kai Sotto in the past? Volleyball star answers

Volleyball players Fifi Sharma and Jia Morado-De Guzman were the latest guests to grace “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" on Monday. 

During the interview, Fifi was asked by Tito Boy if the basketball athlete Kai Sotto ever became her ex, prompting her to clarify that they did not have a romantic relationship.

“Hindi po,” Fifi said.

When asked if Kai courted her, Fifi answered “Friends lang po kami ‘non,” and described Kai as a “very nice" guy. 

The former De La Salle University Lady Spikers star also said that it’s been a year since the last time she and Kai talked.

According to Fifi, she and Kai were just good friends, and that they met because of their fathers.

“Magkakilala na din po kasi 'yung dad namin before. He’s also a fan of volleyball so doon kami medyo nag-connect. Tapos ‘yon, we were just really friends,” she shared.

Kai, who plays for the Koshigaya Alpha in the Japan B-League, is currently in a relationship with Sparkle actress Rere Madrid. 

The couple celebrated their first anniversary in May and attended the GMA Gala 2025 in August.

Meanwhile, Fifi currently plays for the Akari Chargers in the Premiere Volleyball League (PVL).

She is also a member of the Philippine women’s volleyball national team.
