'My Father's Wife' trends online with Kylie Padilla, Kazel Kinouchi's palengke war

The story of "My Father's Wife" is now heating up!

According to Nelson Canlas' report in "24 Oras" on Monday, the palengke war between Gina (Kylie Padilla), and Betsy (Kazel Kinouchi) has now garnered over 16 millions views across streaming platforms.

Aside from the heated catfight, the intense confrontation scene between Robert (Gabby Concepcion) and Gerald (Jak Roberto) also went viral, racking up over two million views.

As the show goes viral, the cast members said they become more inspired to deliver a more exciting series to the viewers.

"It's going to bring a lot of emotions sa characters especially 'yung character ko because talagang hahabulin ko siya, hahabulin ko sila. Mas maganda 'yung may confrontation 'di ba?" Gabby said. 

"'Di nawawala 'yung sampalan, 'di nawawala 'yung pisikalan. Ako nga kaliwa't kanan na sampal lagi ang natatanggap ko sa show na ito. From green flag to red flag 'yung character ko so paano ko mari-redeem ang sarili ko sa family ko?" Jak added.

They also say they also read real-time comments from viewers on the online streaming of the series.

"Minsan nag-la-live ako para mag-sorry sa kanila. Sorry po hindi po totoo 'yun," Kazel said, adding that she also gets angry with her character Betsy.

"Kapag binabasa ko nga 'yung script [napapa], 'Ano ba 'yan! Maldita talaga! Ang sama-sama!' Pero abangan nila, hindi natin alam, malay mo," she said.

Aside from the confrontational and fight scenes, Kylie also said that viewers should watch out for deeper revelations about their characters and the lessons they can learn from them.

"Kay Gina, how to be forgiving and have a forgiving heart," she said.
