Jaya says Janno Gibbs is a strict producer

Jaya revealed that Janno Gibbs is very strict in the studio, sharing how demanding and highly disciplined his production style is.

On Tuesday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Jaya agreed that Janno is one of the country’s best singers.

“'Di ba? Ang swerte ko, nagkaroon kami ng ‘Ikaw Lamang,’ ‘Kung Kailangan Mo Ako,’” she said.

It was during the production of “Ikaw Lamang” that Jaya experienced Janno’s meticulous nature firsthand.

“Para po malaman ninyo gaano ka-strikto si Janno as a producer, ‘yung ‘Ikaw Lamang,’ note for note, turo niya. At ‘pag hindi ko nagawa ‘yun, take again,” she said. “Kasi ano siya, very strict. Gusto niya may sarili siyang sound na naririnig.”

She also remembered Janno’s precise instructions.

“‘Pag mali ako, inuulit ko. Kasi naaalala ko ‘yung turo niya sa akin. ‘No. Wrong. Again.’ Very strict. But once you get what he wants, at nagperform na kayo, ‘yun na ‘yon,” she said.

Jaya is set to hold her “Jaya All Hits” concert on September 14 at the New Frontier Theater.
