September 21 rallies: Elijah Canlas calls corrupt politicians 'best actors'

Elijah Canlas is among the celebrities who graced the September 21 rally at the EDSA People Power Monument.

In his speech, the award-winning actor demanded accountability from politicians, government officials, and contractors amid the ongoing probe on alleged anomalous flood control projects.

"Lahat ng kasangkot dapat managot. Niloloko lang nila tayo, mga sinungaling sila, ang gagaling pa umarte mga best actor, hindi po ba? Kung ibalik n'yo na lang kaya ang pera ng taong bayan?" Elijah said.

The actor also said that he is happy to see the youth and the elderly joining the protests against corruption.

"Karapatan natin ang maningil, humingi ng sagot," he said. "Huwag kayo matakot. Karapatan po natin ito lahat bilang taong bayan, bilang bawat isa sa atin ang nagbabayad ng buwis. Para to sa susunod na henerasyon, at para sa henerasyon natin ngayon," he said.

Aside from the "Trillion Peso March" in the People Power Monument, another rally called "Baha sa Luneta: Aksyon na Laban sa Korapsyon" is currently being held at the Rizal Park in Manila.
