‘It’s Showtime’: Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, other hosts wear white outfits, ribbons on-air
The hosts of It’s Showtime showed solidarity with the nationwide rallies held on September 21, which took place in Metro Manila and other parts of the country.
In Monday’s episode of the noontime show, mainstay hosts Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, and Karylle wore white outfits and white ribbons on their wrists.
They were joined by fellow hosts Jhong Hilario, Vhong Navarro, Ion Perez, Darren Espanto, Ogie Alcasid, Amy Perez, Jugs Jugueta, Jackie Gonzaga, MC, and guest host Shuvee Etrata, who also sported the symbolic attire.
On Sunday, Vice, Anne, and Darren attended the “Trillion Peso March” at the EDSA People Power Monument. The protest was sparked by allegations of corruption in flood control projects currently being investigated in Congress and the Senate.
During the protest, Vice challenged President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. in her speech to thieves in the country.
"Para magkaroon ng magandang legasiya ang pangalan mo, ipakulong mo ang lahat ng magnanakaw," Vice said.
"Nakatingin kami sa 'yo Pangulong Marcos at inaasahan ka namin hindi dahil sa idol ka namin, kundi dahil sinuswelduhan ka namin at inaasahan namin na tutuparin mo ang inuutos naming mga employer mo," she said.
Meanwhile, celebrities who didn’t make it to the rally, including Angel Locsin, Jennylyn Mercado, and Ruru Madrid, made their stands against Philippine corruption on social media.
