Shuvee Etrata begins taping for horror film 'Huwag Kang Titingin'

Shuvee Etrata has already started filming for the horror film “Huwag Kang Titingin."

In Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras” Thursday, Shuvee admitted to being challenged by the genre because she easily gets scared.

“Mahirap siya, mahirap siya in fairness, ‘yung horror kasi matatakutin ako. Pero alam mo ‘yung reactions ko, at least, normal kasi matatakutin nga ako. Tinatakot talaga din ako ni Direk [Frasco Mortiz],” she said.

During her shooting, Shuvee received visits from GMA Network Senior Vice President and GMA Pictures President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes and Sparkle GMA Artist Center First Vice President Joy Marcelo.

“Nakakatulong talaga. Sobra akong na-touch na nandito sila. Kahit anong mangyari sa akin, nandyan sila para sa akin. Being grateful na, yes, ang daming nangyayari sa mundo, ang daming nangyayari sa buhay ko, ang daming blessings po talaga na dumadating. At the same time, kung ano mang nararamdaman ko or naranasan ko, nandyan 'yung Sparkle family ko for me,” she said.

Shuvee will star alongside Anthony Constantino.

“Her work ethic is something really like no other. You know, because not every single day is the best day. But one thing about Shuvee is that she will always show up. And again, whether that's for her family, for her friends, she is always there, really,” Anthony said.

Shuvee’s motivation has expanded since she started her career, sharing that focusing on positive things serves as her driving force.

“When I was starting, Sir Nelson, I was fueled by the fire of my dreams for my family. Pero right now kasi, I'm not alone. It's the dreams of my pangkat, of my fans, of my supporters. Hindi na po ako nag-iisa ngayon. Parang laban ko na po ito para mapasaya din 'yung mga supporters ko. Maka-inspire pa ng maraming tao, so, focus ako sa positivity and kung ano pang pwede kong mabigay sa mga tao na kasiyahan,” she said.

Huwag Kang Titingin," which will be headlined by Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay, is co-produced by GMA Pictures and Mentorque Productions Inc.

GMA Pictures and Mentorque Productions Inc. held a contract signing to bring the new horror film to cinemas soon.

Directed by Frasco Mortiz, “Huwag Kang Titingin” offers a fresh take on Filipino horror, blending a chilling Gen Z-inspired narrative with the eerie pull of local folklore and viral internet challenges.

Beyond its jump scares and suspense, the film aims to leave a deeper impact—connecting with audiences through emotional resonance and a strong sense of cultural identity.
