Shuvee Etrata, Angel Guardian, more Sparkle stars help repack goods for Kapuso Foundation's Typhoon Opong relief ops

Shuvee Etrata, Angel Guardian, Ralph Miaco, Akira Kurata, Winston Stolk, Neathan Tan, Alethea Ambrosio, Mark Oliveros, and Brent Valdez took the time on Friday to help with GMA Kapuso Foundation's relief operations.

On social media, Sparkle shared snaps of their talents as they repacked goods like rice and bottled water at a warehouse. The pro-active measures are for the victims of Typhoon Opong, which is currently crossing the country.

In Bernadette Reyes' report in "24 Oras" Friday, Angel underscored the importance of working together during times of crisis.

"Kahit sa simpleng paraan maramdaman nila na 'yung mga kababayan eh tinutulungan na rin sila, nandiyan pa rin tayo para sa isa't isa," she said.

Shuvee, on the other hand, reminded the public that help can come in many ways.

"To everybody who's able to help or who has the time to help, hindi naman lang 'to financial ang kailangan mong maibigay. Hindi limitado ang pwede mong gawing pagtulong sa kapwa nating mga Pilipino, marami pong ways. With your little way, you're capable of doing something more," she said.

The relief packing comes after the GMA Kapuso Foundation earlier delivered 5,000 food packs to families affected by Nando in Cagayan and Benguet, with about 2,000 individuals benefiting from the initiative.

Moreover, a total of 2,000 food packs have been arranged in Calayan Isand, while 2,000 more are on standby at the AFP Southern Luzon headquarters in Lucena for those who will be affected by Opong.

Earlier on Friday, a team from the GMA Kapuso Foundation also headed to Bicol to distribute 2,000 food packs to residents affected by Opong.

According to PAGASA's 5pm weather bulletin, the center of Opong was seen over the coastal waters of Santa Cruz, Occidental Mindoro.

Signal No.3 is up over Occidental Mindoro and Calamine Islands, while Signal No.2 is raised over the southern portion of Cavite, Batangas, Marinduque, the western portion of Romblon, Cuyo Islands, the extreme northern portion of mainland Palawan and the Caluya Islands.

PAGASA said Opong will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday afternoon, September 27.

For those who wish to support GMA Kapuso Foundation's projects, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee. Visit the GMA Kapuso Foundation website for more information.
