Mika Salamanca, Brent Manalo are best friends in love in 'What If Tayo?' music video

Mika Salamanca dropped the music video of her collab song "What If Tayo?" with Brent Manalo, and it's giving best friends with secret feelings trope.

The five-minute music video opened with Mika and Brent in a park stealing glances with one another. As the story progressed, the two spent more time bonding together. 

While in the middle of a cup stacking game, Brent suddenly felt the urge to confess something to Mika.

"Actually, matagal ko nang gustong aminin sa 'yo eh," he said, to which Mika answered, "Puwede naman."

He stopped midway and continued to play, brushing off the thoughts of confessing to his best friend.

As the tension grew between them, Mika suddenly spoke to Brent in Kapampangan, saying that she had something to say to him.

"Tumingin ka nga sa akin. Kahit saglit lang. May sasabihin ako," she said in Kapampangan. 

Mika then asked Brent if he feels something for her, to which he answered "mayroon," but quickly added that it's mostly just a headache because of her constant rants.

The music video also featured an endearing scene in the park where the two stars contemplated their friendship. Brent asked Mika what would happen if she didn't want to be best friends with him anymore.

Mika assured the anxious Brent, saying that it would not happen because she chooses him every day. The beautiful scene ended with Brent saying that he also chooses Mika all the time.

"What If Tayo?" is Mika and Brent's first song together. It was released on September 12.

Mika and Brent, who started as the MEnt duo in the earlier days of the "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition," were of the popular "ships" inside Bahay ni Kuya. Fans affectionately dubbed them as "MikBrent."

They later became each other's final duo and eventually won the Big Winner title.

Mika and Brent are set to star in the upcoming collab series of GMA and ABS-CBN, "Secrets of Hotel 88," with some of their fellow housemates. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News
