Rita Daniela wins Best Actress at Sinag Maynila 2025

Rita Daniela won Best Actress at the Sinag Maynila 2025 Independent Film Festival for her role in Joel Lamangan's "Madawag ang Landas Patungong Pag-Asa (The Teacher)." 

On Instagram, Sparkle GMA Artist Center congratulated Rita for her big win. 

Rita received her award during the film fest's awarding ceremony on Sunday, and reposted clips from the event on her Instagram Stories. 

In the film, she plays the role of Araceli Lumawag, an admirable teacher who gets assigned to an elementary school in a far-flung village. The school had suffered from disruptions due to violence and the COVID-19 health crisis, and Araceli must now convince the children to go back to school. 

Sinag Maynila is a local film festival dedicated to showcasing some of the best of independent cinema. The 2025 edition of the film fest kicked off on September 24 and will run until Tuesday, September 30.
