David Licauco joins Barbie Forteza in 'Beauty Empire' episode

David Licauco has made his appearance on "Beauty Empire," which stars Barbie Forteza as Noreen.

On Tuesday's episode, David's character, Javier Mendoza, was introduced in a heartfelt scene inside a cafe.

Javier noticed that Noreen seemed troubled and offered her complimentary chamomile tea and asked if he could join her, admitting that he had often seen her around.

Observing her routine, Javier gently mentioned that she frequently visited the nearby cemetery.

From there, the two exchanged introductions. Noreen revealed she was visiting her older sister, while Javier opened up that he, too, went there for his late brother, who died in a road rage incident.

Javier shared that the cafe once belonged to his brother, whose vision was to give happiness in every cup.

He admitted it took him time to cope with the loss, revealing he once drowned himself in parties and casual encounters, but those did not ease the pain.

Over time, he said, he found peace by reconnecting with nature, where he realized that in life, there are forests bigger than us and our problems.

When asked, Noreen admitted that she wasn't sure if she herself had healed from her grief.

Javier then invited her to join him on a hiking trip whenever she felt ready.

Barbie and David became a love team when they starred together as Fidel and Klay in "Maria Clara at Ibarra." They later starred in several more projects, including "Maging Sino Ka Man," "Pulang Araw," and the film "That Kind of Love."
