Can Karylle be friends with Dingdong Dantes? Actress answers
Can Karylle be friends again with Dingdong Dantes?
On Wednesday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the King of Talk recalled Karylle and Dingdong, who are exes, crossing paths on "It's Showtime" earlier this year.
Boy asked Karylle if the encounter was awkward for her.
"I did see a lot of clips, and I wouldn't have put myself in a situation na hindi ako handa siguro. So sometimes people judge na, 'Bakit hindi mo hinaharap?' Minsan hindi ka pa handa, so why would you put yourself in a situation na baka may magawa kang hindi exactly maganda," she said.
When asked if she was not ready to face Dingdong, Karylle clarified that it was only the case before their recent meeting.
"Kasi parang some people were like, 'Are you avoiding?' Sabi ko, 'Hindi. Minsan, nagkakataon lang na you're also working or doing theater shows, etcetera," she said.
Karylle also called their "It's Showtime" encounter a "beautiful moment."
"You see, all is well, you know? I think with every public breakup, it's a bit hard," she said. "Even my childhood was like that. I was six years old when that happened to me, and that was very public. You know, to just protect your sanity."
Karylle was also asked if she could be friends with Dingdong.
In response, she said, "I don't know if 'friends' is the word. I would imagine, being people in the same industry, we could support each other."
"I see that he supports our movie, I did my best to kind of support their own movies, so I think supporting each other, maybe. The friendship, I don't think is in the cards anymore."
Karylle and Dingdong were in a relationship for three years. They broke up in 2008.
Karylle is now married to Sponge Cola frontman Yael Yuzon, while Dingdong is married to Marian Rivera. —Carby Rose Basina/MGP, GMA Integrated News
