Dingdong Dantes, Boy Abunda, Chris Tiu lead 'Be Juan Tama' Masterclass with lessons on disaster preparedness, truth, health
The GMA Masterclass “The Be Juan Tama Conversation Series” kicked off with an engaging and meaningful discussion led by Dingdong Dantes, Boy Abunda, and Chris Tiu.
According to Aubrey Caramepel’s report on “24 Oras,” Friday, the forum held at San Sebastian College - Recoletos gathered over 1,000 college students from Metro Manila and partner institutions to tackle important and timely issues, from disaster preparedness to information literacy and wellness.
“Very, very timely talaga ‘yung usapin ng disaster preparedness. Nangyayari talaga kaliwa’t kanan at mangyayari, mangyayari pa rin talaga kaya mahalagang maging prepared, maging handa tayong lahat,” Dingdong said.
Chris, for his part, highlighted the value of maintaining an active lifestyle.
“Because in doing so, napapaganda ang buhay natin in many ways,” he said.
Tito Boy also underscored the importance of responsible communication and discernment in the age of misinformation.
“May mga bagay na inaakala nating hindi dapat pinag-uusapan o may mga issues na minamaliit natin, tuloy hindi natin nauunawaan at nakokontrol tayo na hindi natin alam. Katulad na lamang ng phenomenon nga ng chismis,” he said.
GMA executives were present at the event, led by Senior Vice President and Head of GMA Integrated News, Regional TV, and Synergy Oliver Victor B. Amoroso; GMA Entertainment Group Officer-in-Charge and Vice President Cheryl Ching-Sy; and Business Development Department II Vice President Janine Piad-Nacar.
“Today, with the 'Be Juan Tama Conversation Series,' we hope to empower all of us here to make the right choices in this digital age. To our students, kayo ‘yon, I hope you will take this opportunity to learn from our powerhouse panel. We need them to help us muster the courage to make the right choices,” Amoroso said.
The event was hosted by "Saksi" and "24 Oras Weekend" anchor Pia Arcangel and saw powerful performances by Chloe Redondo.
The forum concluded with Kapuso hosts and students signing the Panata Wall as a pledge of support for the "Be Juan Tama" campaign.
