Princess Aliyah, Miguel Vergara join 'Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0'
Princess Aliyah and Miguel Vergara are the latest housemates to be announced by "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0!"
On "24 Oras," Wednesday, the two stars were introduced as "Ang Royal Songstress ng Bulacan" and "Ang Adorable Smasher ng Antipolo City," respectively.
A Sparkle teen star, Princess has appeared in "Forever Young," "Royal Blood," "Start-Up PH," and more Kapuso shows.
Aside from being an actress, Princess is also a talented singer and she previously joined a reality singing competition in 2016. She also played the role of Marta in the Manila leg of "The Sound of Music" in 2017.
Miguel, who began his acting career as a child, previously appeared in "Tubig at Langis" and in "One More Try," where he won the Best Child Actor award in the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival and 2013 FAMAS Awards.
In an interview with Nelson Calnas, Princess said that she chose to join PBB over a project where was supposed to be the lead.
"Noong una po tinanong ako ni mom. Sure ka ba? Kasi pag nag-PBB ka hindi mo alam baka ma-bash ka sa loob. Hindi mo alam kung anong nangyayari sa labas eh," Princess said.
"Parang mas nag-take ako ng risk kasi hindi talaga ako risk-taker. Lagi akong play safe. Bago ako mag-18 gusto kong maka-try ng something exciting," she added.
As she joins the upcoming season, Princess shared that she hopes to overcome her awkwardness around boys, which she attributes to being homeschooled and growing up with only a sister.
"Kasi ilang ako medyo sa boys since hindi nga ako nag-school and palagi ko lang kasama is parents ko," she said.
"Hindi ako exposed sa mga kaedad kong boys. So 'yun sana madevelop ko na makipag-usap din, makipag-friends din sa kanila. Walang ilangan," she added.
Meanwhile, Miguel said that he wasn't 100 percent sure of joining PBB at first.
"But sabi po ng dad ko, think about it. Kasi kapag pumasok ako doon sa first interview I'm 100 percent committed to PBB. If 'yung experience naman po, I get to meet new people. That intrigued me a lot so I said yes," Miguel said.
When asked what he thinks would be his biggest challenge inside Bahay ni Kuya, Miguel said it would be doing the household chores and getting along with his fellow housemates.
"Mahirap. Hindi po ako marunong mag gawaing bahay. I know how but I'm not good at it po. So I think that's gonna be hard," he said.
"Tapos yung siyempre pakikisama po. Siyempre kailangan po makikisama. And I'll just be myself po inside the house. And I'll just have fun," he added.
Princess and Miguel join Sofia Pablo and Joaquin Arce in the list of housemates who have been revealed so far.
"Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0" will start airing on Saturday, October 25. The second season will feature a group of Gen Z celebrities from Sparkle and Star Magic. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News
