Kokoy De Santos, Matt Lozano admit they got nervous doing political satire in 'Bubble Gang'

Kokoy De Santos and Matt Lozano admitted on Friday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" that they got nervous doing political satire in "Bubble Gang."

Kokoy played the role of "Cong. Kikoy," while Matt took on the character of "Senator Espada" in recent episodes of the Kapuso comedy show.

Matt shared that he felt nervous when he was in the dressing just before taping his scenes.

"Sa dressing room, Tito Boy, syempre natatakot ako kasi  —  natatakot ako sa political side, tapos gagawing comedy. Kinakabahan ako kasi syempre kilalang tao din 'yung iniimpersonate ko," he said.

He also got caught off guard when his script had to be changed at the last minute.

"Ni-revise pala, so lahat nung kinabisado ko nawala so sabi ko hindi sige, prepared naman ako, nanuod ako ng mga videos para maportray ko nang maayos," he said.

Meanwhile, for Kokoy, his nervousness was due to the pressure of doing the sketch right. He had brought his "Cong. Kikoy" character to the "Ang Dating Doon" sketch of "Bubble Gang's" 30th anniversary special episode, which he said was a last-minute commitment.

"Iba 'yung kaba ko nung ginawa 'yun, Tito Boy, as in gusto ko nang malubog sa lupa kasi last minute 'yun kasi nga ang alam ko lang gagawin ko nung mismong live na taping, Super Momshie. Mas kalmado, parang nagagawa na namin every taping, pero 'yung '[Ang] Dating Doon' alam naman natin lahat na classic na sketch ito sa 'Bubble Gang,'" he said.

"After rehearsal nung Sabado, Sunday 'yung live, four hours ako nasa coffee shop. Nagbabasa ako paulit ulit, nanunuod ako ng lahat ng kailangan kong panoorin," he added.

Matt and Kokoy are part of “Bubble Gang,” which is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

The second part of the show’s anniversary special will air on October 26 at 6:10 p.m.
