'Veiled Musician PH' coming to 'All-Out Sundays' soon; Tiffany of Girls' Generation is guest judge

"Veiled Musician," one of the biggest singing competitions in Asia, is coming to GMA Network's "All-Out Sundays" soon!

According to Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras" Friday, the blind audition show, which is under South Korea's SBS, will hold its Philippine leg with none other than Tiffany Young of Girls' Generation as a guest judge.

In her interview, Tiffany shared the qualities that she will be looking for in the singers.

"It's definitely the vocal style, like how much you can express, what type of songs you're choosing and how — I mean, technique I'm always gonna look for, but how animated and how authentic and personal you can make the song for yourself without showing any parts of you," she said.

"A competition and an audition in itself is such a brave process, so I'm just really rooting for everybody to do their best," she added.

"Veiled Musician Philippines" is a partnership between GMA Network and South Korean production company Kanverse.

The contract signing between the companies was attended by GMA Network Officer-in-Charge for Entertainment Group and Vice President for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy and Kanverse CEO Seo Min Kyu.

Seo Min Kyu shared the concept behind "Veiled Musician," where judges cannot see the faces of the singers.

"Papakinggan lang natin 'yung boses, hindi [kita] 'yung mukha. Kung ano 'yung meron sa kanila para 'wag natin makita 'yung background, kung saan siya galing, saan siya nagtrabaho, saan  siya nag-aral gusto ko lang talaga marinig yung boses lang po mismo, kung ano po yung mga talent na meron sa kanila," he said in Korean and translated into Filipino.

"Veiled Musician" producer and director Lee Honghee is also in the Philippines.

He said that three singers will be chosen from the Philippines, who will then go on to compete against other Asian contestants in the finals of "Veiled Musician" in South Korea.

Per Lee Honghee, the Philippines is the fourth country they have visited following Indonesia, Mongolia, and Laos.

"Meron pang iba pero nung dumadalaw kami lahat ng iba't-ibang bansa sobrang na-surprise kami kasi ang daming magagaling na vocalist pala," said Lee in Korean and translated into Filipino.

The other judges who will be joining Tiffany will be revealed soon, so stay tuned!
