'Bubble Gang' at 30: Vice Ganda, Emil Sumangil, more stars join anniversary special

'Bubble Gang' at 30: Vice Ganda, Emil Sumangil, more stars join sketches

"Bubble Gang" just aired the second and last part of its 30th anniversary special on Sunday, where it featured some of the industry's biggest names.

The episode saw the guesting of Emil Sumangil and Vice Ganda, as well as the return of OG "Bubble Gang" members Diana Zubiri and Maureen Larrazabal, among others.

Here are some of the highlights of the second part of the special.

1. Emil Sumangil's surprise cameo in 'Agresibo'

The award-winning Kapuso journalist made a surprise cameo in the show's "Agresibo" sketch, a parody of his show "Resibo."

In the skit, Paolo played the role of Emil Maangil, even copying Emil's signature style in reporting. As he roamed around his studio, he noticed two ladies played by Faye Lorenzo and Maureen Larrazabal arguing over their seats.

He approached them in an attempt to settle things, but as the tension rose, Paolo was reprimanded by the guards for disturbing the audience. Just as he tried to explain who he was, the real Emil suddenly stood up from the crowd, much to the delight of the fans.

"Kilala din kita," Emil said.

"Oo pero ikaw ang OG kuya," Paolo answered.

Emil then thanked Paolo, saying he supported his skit. The two later exchanged the iconic spiel "Agresibo" in Emil's signature style.

2. Diana Zubiri bringing her iconic Danaya

Diana's iconic character Danaya came to visit the "Bubble Gang" studio to save some lives.

In the Supermamshie skit, Kelvin Miranda's character was seen in a heated argument with his so-called gay benefactor. As tensions flared, the superhero team composed of Super Duper Momshie (Paolo Contis), Thunder Momshie (Betong Sumaya), Super Popshie (Kokoy De Santos), Mini Momshie (Buboy Villar), Nakshie Momshie (Matt Lozano), and Super Momshie (EA Guzman)—collectively known as the "tagapagtanggol ng mga aklang naapi"—rushed in to defend the oppressed.

To prove their strength, the six superheroes showcased their unique powers before engaging in a lively dance battle that highlighted their playful chemistry.

Just as the action peaked, Sang'gre Danaya suddenly appeared in her iconic warrior costume. With swift and powerful moves, she struck Kelvin's character with her arnis sticks, saving the "aklang naapi" and bringing the audience to cheers.

3. Esnyr's comedic charm

Esnyr proved that she had a natural comedic charm.

The "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition" Third Big Placer played a character in Chariz Solomon's skit as a fan trying her luck in auditioning for "Bubble Gang."

In the skit, Chariz was also among the fans auditioning and meets the boastful Esnyr while in line. As Esnyr got into Chariz's nerves, she decided to confront the latter.

"Kanina ko pa napapansin ang init ng tingin mo sa akin. Insecure ka ba s 'akin teh?" Esnyr inquired.

The two then got into a catfight, but in a surprising twist, their bodies suddenly switched. Shocked by what happened, Esnyr and Chariz hit each other again in an attempt to return to their original bodies. They eventually succeeded—but by then, both had already missed their auditions.

In the end, the two decided to make peace and start anew as friends.

4. Vice Ganda and Michael V's comedic duo

Vice Ganda has finally made her much-awaited appearance in "Bubble Gang."

The Unkabogable Star was featured in the Sariwa Flowershop skit with Chariz and Michael V.

In the skit, Michael V's iconic character Mr. Assimo encounters Vice at the flower shop run by Chariz. The two hilariously fight over a bouquet of tulips, which Bitoy insists he saw first.

As the argument escalates, the pair engage in a witty exchange of punchlines, showcasing Bitoy and Vice's sharp comedic timing and chemistry.

In the middle of their banter, Chariz interrupts and asks if the two are actually fighting, adding another layer of humor to the scene.

Mr. Assimo said, "Ay hindi! Nagba-ballroom dancing kami ng init ng ulo."

"Ay hindi! Tinatry ko lang 'yung energy ko para sa susunod na round para sa p-------- bulaklak na' yan!" Vice added.

The tension then shifted toward Chariz, as the two began accusing her of judging them.

"Masyado kang judgmental!" Mr. Assimo said.

"Hindi ka naman judge. Mental ka lang!" Vice added.

Their skit ended with the both of them saying Mr. Assimo's iconic line "Hiyang-hiya naman ako sa 'yo noh!" —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News
