Gabbi Garcia shares experience working on international film 'Prisoner of War' with Scott Adkins

For Gabbi Garcia, working on her first-ever international film, "Prisoner of War," was an exciting experience that also gave her a different challenge.

The Sparkle star guested on Friday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" where she talked about her experience working on the film, which saw her star alongside British actor and martial artist Scott Adkins.

"It was so fun doing a different kind of film, it's my first time doing a period film and it was a different experience kasi you can really see how stunts were done with his production, how they choreograph it. It's different kasi talagang handang-handa si Scott Adkins for all his fight scenes," she said.

"Prisoner of War," which is about the Bataan Death March during World War II, premiered at the Beverly Hills Film Festival in April.

Gabbi played the role of a fearless Filipino nurse serving at a camp for prisoners of war.

According to the Kapuso actress, the movie offered a different challenge for her since she had to speak in broken English. She also had to do her own research about the Bataan Death March.

"I can't really talk in a way that I know how to speak in English properly, so I really had to go through workshops na talagang kailangan baliin 'yung English and I also needed to research about the Death March 'cause we really taped the scenes, we filmed it in Bataan," she said.

Gabbi is reprising her role as Alena for "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre."

The series airs on GMA Network from Mondays to Fridays at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." You can also watch it online via the Kapuso Stream on YouTube.
