Lexi Gonzales to star in upcoming 'Magpakailanman' episode

Lexi Gonzales is starring in the upcoming episode of "Magpakailanman," which will tackle the issue of child abuse. 

According to Athena Imperial's report on "24 Oras" Friday, the Sparkle actress will star alongside Maricar De Mesa in the episode titled "My Mother, My Abuser." 

Lexi plays the role of a daughter who suffers at the hands of her abusive mother (Maricar). 

"'Yung emotions, nag-f-flow na lang eh, so 'pag sampal, sampal talaga. 'Pag kaladkad, kaladkad, pero thankful pa rin ako kay Ms. Maricar kasi somehow sinusuportahan niya pa rin ako kahit pabagsak na ako," she said. 

Lexi shared that she watched news about children who suffered abuse to help her prepare for the demanding role. 

"Nanuod ako ng mga balita ng mga batang [inabuso] just to see how they are. Importante rin talaga 'yung readiness as a parent," she said. 

Lexi currently stars in the GMA Afternoon Prime series "Cruz vs. Cruz." 

The "Magpakailanman" episode "My Mother, My Abuser" will air on GMA Network on November 8, 8:20 p.m.
