Sparkle launches 'ClicKindness' campaign
Sparkle just launched the “ClicKindness” campaign!
At the Sparkle Trenta celebration on Saturday, Alden Richards said the campaign is all about choosing to be kind on social media.
“Syempre, we now live in an age where social media is very dominant. And lahat po tayo ngayon ay nasa social media,” he said, adding that everybody experiences bashing and hate on social media.
“Maski ano naman po ang sabihin natin, minsan kahit papano, for some reason, one way or another, we are being affected by those hateful comments and negative comments. And syempre naapektuhan tayo, nalulungkot tayo, nagagalit, nasasaktan. And syempre, our mental health is being compromised. So damay damay na siya.”
Alden said the campaign is not just for Sparkle, but is for everyone and for the greater good.
“This advocacy and this movement is headed on to spreading goodness, positivity, compassion, and kindness online,” Alden said.
“Our reach online combined is very powerful.”
The actor added that posts online should be inspirational and filled with love, and not hateful.
In that moment, Alden challenged the audience members to post something nice.
Following the campaign announcement, Julie Anne San Jose performed Sparkle’s new theme song.
