Filipino singer Louie Heredia joins Miss Universe selection committee

Filipino singer and TV host Louie Heredia will be joining the 74th Miss Universe selection committee, the pageant announced on Tuesday night.

“With countless concerts and years of performing around the world, his insight and experience will bring a meaningful perspective to this year’s competition,” Miss Universe said on Facebook.

Louie previously served as a judge at the Miss Universe closed-door interviews, which were held last week.

He was also a judge at Miss World Philippines 2018.

Louie is best known for the songs “Nag-iisang Ikaw,” “Una at Huling Mamahalin,” and “Can Find No Reason.” He is also best known for co-hosting the 90s variety show “Lunch Date.”

Following a shaky start, this year's Miss Universe competition is heating up with the National Costume and preliminary competitions scheduled to take place on Wednesday.

At the swimsuit competition held last week, Philippine bet Ahtisa Manalo strutted the runway with her signature confidence while donning a two-piece green swimsuit by local fashion brand Bench.

Ahtisa is aiming to win the Philippines’ fifth Miss Universe crown. She was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2025 in May.

Earlier, Ahtisa revealed that Mak Tumang designed her national costume, while Val Taguba worked on her evening gown.

The Miss Universe coronation event is happening on November 21 at the Impact Muong Thong Thani Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
