What's more frightening: ghosts or the state of our society? Jessica Soho answers

Jessica Soho is set to headline the “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho: Gabi ng Lagim” movie.

At the movie’s press conference on Tuesday, the Kapuso journalist was asked what's more frightening: supernatural entities or the country’s current state.

While she said both were scary — “siyempre takot ako sa mga multo anytime,” Soho said — the veteran journalist gave emphasis to the “downward spiral” the country is currently facing.

“Pero nakakatakot yung downward spiral. Sana matigil," she said.

The award-winning journalist added the country’s worsening state is especially frightening for ordinary citizens.

They can leave anytime. Soho continued.

The 61-year-old journalist and Rolling Stone Philippine Hall of Fame inductee also reflected on her decades of reporting and expressed frustration that many of today’s problems mirror those from the 1980's, an era marked by political instability, capital flight, and economic collapse.

Gabi ng Lagim” is the annual Halloween special of "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho" that's been turned into a movie. Like the TV specials, the film is based on true accounts that will be brought to life by Sparkle artists Sanya Lopez, Jillian Ward, and Miguel Tanfelix, as well as Elijah Canlas.

It is set to premiere in cinemas nationwide on November 26. — LA, GMA Integrated News
