Amanda Page on leaving showbiz at her peak: 'That was never going to be my endgame'
Former actress and host Amanda Page guested on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" where she shared why she walked away from showbiz at the height of her career in the early 2000s.
On Friday's episode, Amanda told Tito Boy that she always knew showbiz was not her "endgame."
"Parang feeling ko, when I was in showbiz, that was never going to be my endgame, I always had a different endgame," she said, noting that she understood that she would not grow old or stay in the industry.
"I I always knew going into it that this was just a portion of my life and then I was going to move on," she added.
Nevertheless, Amanda shared that she has no regrets about entering showbiz.
"I feel like everything I did, I was meant to experience a lot, whether it be positive or negative. I think it's always a positive experience if you learn from something and then you grow."
While she most likely won't return to showbiz anytime soon, the former "SOP" host told Tito Boy that she will "never say never."
She also highlighted how fortunate she is right now to live a normal life in the United States and have anonymity in her daily life.
"I'm never gonna say never, pero 'yung parang feeling ko I feel like I'm very fortunate right now in my life. I love where I'm at with my life. I love being just a normal person, having a normal life, I love going to work, I love going to gym, I love doing day-to-day things, and having that anonymity and also I feel like the work that my husband and I do is very rewarding," she said, adding that she works as an administrator at the clinic of her husband, who is a medical doctor.
She was among the original hosts of GMA Network's variety show "SOP" alongside Ogie Alcasid, Janno Gibbs, and Vina Morales. Her works in the past include “Rizal in Dapitan” and “Ang Probinsyano.” She also starred in "Bubble Gang," "T.G.I.S." and more.
